2020 Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) participated in a debate at CNN’s studios in Washington, DC. The debate was the first in the 2020 cycle without a studio audience because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affecting the U.S. and other nations. The first hour of the debate focused on the spread of the disease and efforts to stop it. Later, the two candidates discussed a range of other issues, including health care, foreign policy and women’s rights. The debate was co-hosted by Spanish-language broadcaster Univision.
