However, he said additional information throughout the week would give a better idea of where the state is and put an even greater emphasis on social distancing efforts. The governor also talked about data that showed more than 70 percent of the state’s deaths were African Americans despite making up about a third of the state’s total population. “Obviously, this is a big disparity and we’re going to try to figure out what that is attributable to and what we can do about that as quickly as possible,” he said.
