Dr. Michael Saag, an infectious disease physician and professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, talked about the latest in clinical care for COVID-19 patients.

David Quammen, author of Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic, discused his research and writing on pathogens that pass between animals and humans and lessons thatc ould be learned from the coronavirus pandemic.

Representative Suzan DelBene (D-WA), who represents Washington state’s 1st Congressional District, spoke by phone from her home about the response to the pandemic there, one of the earliest places in the U.S. to record a COVID-19 death. Other topics included the potential for remote or proxy voting in the House of Representatives, and Representative Suzan DelBene and her family were coping with the epidemic. close
