Reporting from 75 locations throughout the United States, the broadcast is organized into three parts, with each attempting to answer a question: 1) How did the civil rights revolution begin? 2) What course is it following? 3) What are the effects of the revolution? This 70 minutes is the first part of the report and covers slavery and Jim Crow laws, protests and violent responses in Georgia, Alabama, and Maryland as well as in northern cities such as Chicago, New York and Englewood, New Jersey. close
