In an interview conducted by the Atomic Heritage Foundation, James Forde recounted his experience as a lab assistant in New York City for the Manhattan Project. He was responsible for cleaning tubes used to test barrier solutions needed to produce enriched uranium for the atomic bomb. The “Voices of the Manhattan Project” oral history collection was created by the Atomic Heritage Foundation and is managed by the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History. close
