Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) talked about race relations and police reform, including the death of George Floyd while in custody of Minneapolis police. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted on two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in the death of Mr. Floyd. Mr. Ellison also talked about the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and urged the Senate to pass the legislation. Shortly before this event, Attorney General Ellison announced that his office would lead the prosecution against former Brooklyn Center (MN) police officer Kimberly Potter, who was charged in the shooting death of Daunte Wright. close
