The White House COVID-19 Response Team held a briefing on the administration’s response to the pandemic. They addressed the spread of the Delta variant, infections in children, the likelihood of COVID-19 booster shots, and breakthrough cases in vaccinated people. On booster shots, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated, “We believe sooner or later you will need a booster for durability of protection.” Other speakers included COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, and White House COVID-19 Health Equity Chair Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith. close
