Former Vice President Mike Pence spoke at the annual Lilac Luncheon hosted by the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women. In reaction to recent mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York, he expressed his condolences to victims and their families. He then criticized Democrats' response to the shootings and said, “Not surprisingly, President Biden and the Democrats have already sought to politicize this national tragedy with predictable calls for gun control.” The said a solution does exist, which is the STOP School Violence Act, a law enacted in 2018 intended to institute safety measures at public schools. Mr. Pence spoke about other issues, including abortion, saying he hopes that Roe v. Wade would be sent “to the ash heap of history where it belongs.” He championed other Republican causes and candidates amid the upcoming 2022 elections. close
