During her weekly briefing, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reacted to the Supreme Court overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion. The Court ruled in favor of a Mississippi law banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Speaker Pelosi said the Supreme Court is “eviscerating Americans' rights and endangering their health and safety.” She called the Supreme Court “radical” and claimed their decision was a “slap in the face to women.” She also spoke about the Senate’s passage of gun legislation, which she said the House would also vote on. close
