These people don’t care. They’re never losing their jobs. They’re never losing their health care,” he said as he called out Republicans by name, especially Sen. Pat Toomey (PA). Several congressional leaders and activists also voiced their frustrations about the failed vote. The Honoring Our Pact Act of 2022 passed the Senate on June 16 by a vote of 84-14, and the House on July 13 by a vote of 342-88. Due to an error, it later returned to the Senate on July 27 for a new vote, which failed to achieve the 60 votes needed to advance the bill. Sen. Toomey has claimed the bill contains $400 billion in spending that is unrelated to veterans' health care. This program contains language that may offend some people.
