British Conservative Party Leadership Debate

Sky News hosted a debate dubbed “The Battle for Number 10” between British Conservative Party leaders to replace outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who announced his resignation on July 7 amid scandal. Rishi Sunak, the former finance minister, and Liz Truss, the foreign minister, were vying for the leadership role within the British Conservative Party. The winner of the September 5 election, would become prime minister.
