“It wouldn’t have happened without your hand. It just wouldn’t have gotten done, and I want to thank you for that,” said President Biden of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) support for the bipartisan infrastructure law. The president made these remarks on infrastructure investment and the economy during a visit to the Brent Spence Bridge in Covington, Kentucky. The bridge, which connects to Cincinnati and is considered a major freight and transport route in the country, would benefit from federal infrastructure investment dollars for major repairs and refurbishment. Preceding the president’s remarks, Leader McConnell said, “If you look at the political alignment of everyone involved, it’s the government working together to solve a major problem at a time when the country needs to see examples like this, of coming together and getting an outcome.” close
