Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder offered condolences to the families of nine Army soldiers who were killed in a training operation involving two Black Hawk helicopters outside Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He said an investigation would begin immediately. Moreover, Press Secretary Ryder gave an update on the back-and-forth airstrikes that happened between the U.S. and militants backed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to Brig. Gen. Ryder, eight total militants were killed from the U.S. strikes, seven U.S. personnel were in stable condition after being wounded, and six others were diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries. As previously reported, one U.S. contractor was killed. close
