Trade and customs policy stakeholders and professionals testified before the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade on modernization of customs and trade policies and how they can help strengthen the country’s supply chain. Several topics were discussed, including enforcement of trade policy, eliminating forced labor from the supply chain, increasing U.S. production of goods, the role of Customs and Border Protection, and competition with China. They also addressed the need for transparency of shipments coming into the country’s ports via airways, which are not monitored like cargo ships are monitored. close
