President Biden called the U.S. partnership with India one of the “most consequential in the world, that is stronger, closer, and more dynamic than any time in history,” during a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the White House. Each leader spoke of the relationship between the two countries, highlighting efforts made in climate change mitigation, technology innovation, manufacturing and job creation, and the strengthening of partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region. When asked about human rights concerns in India, the prime minister said, “there’s absolutely no discrimination, neither on basis of caste, creed, or age, or any type of geographic location.” close
