They testified before a joint House Oversight and Accountability subcommittees' hearing on Capitol Hill. The JISD was attacked in June 2021 and paid more than half a million dollars to cyber criminals to protect the identities of students, teachers and staff. UVM Health was targeted during the pandemic in October 2020. They faced significant issues because the malware infected all their computers. Cybersecurity experts also testified and said most ransomware attacks originate from Russia.
