House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) called on Republicans to work in a bipartisan manner and stop playing “partisan political games with national security” during his weekly news conference. The House recently passed a GOP bill that included aid for Israel but not Ukraine. Leader Jeffries criticized Republicans for putting forth legislation on the floor “they know is dead on arrival.” When asked about the threat of a possible government shutdown, Rep. Jeffries replied, “the American people should be very concerned, that the extreme MAGA Republicans have made a decision once again to try and shutdown the government.” close
