President Biden reiterated the important need for Congress to approve supplemental funding for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against Russia before leaving for the holiday break. The president and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a joint news conference after a one-on-one meeting at the White House. Earlier in the day President Zelensky met with congressional leaders from both parties to lobby for additional U.S. aid. The Russia-Ukraine War began in late February 2022. close
