The Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control held a hearing to examine the role of shell companies in facilitating transnational crime, such as fentanyl trafficking. Key topics included bad actors using such companies for money laundering and cartels using registered U.S. aircraft to smuggle illegal drugs. The Corporate Transparency Act was passed in 2021, which is intended to outlaw anonymous U.S. shell companies. close
