Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray (D-WA) convened the impeachment trial of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Members were sworn in as jurors and then signed the oath book. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) asked for unanimous consent for a time agreement on an impeachment trial resolution. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) objected to Senator Schumer’s motion. Majority Leader Schumer then raised a point of order that the first impeachment article was unconstitutional. close
