This week Vice President Gore challenged the telecommunications industry to link all classrooms, libraries and health clinics to a network by the year 2000. In a luncheon address to the meeting of the Quality Education for Minorities Network, Jeffery Joseph responded to that challenge. Mr. Joseph serves as the vice chairman of the Community Learning and Information Network, an organization which worked to interconnect schools and other community information centers. He described interactive telecommunications and encouraged action to prevent the “information superhighway” from bypassing minority communities. close
