U.S. Trade Represenative Mickey Kantor held a news conference to discuss President Clinton’s decision to implement the so called, Super 301. This executive order allowed the U.S. to impose punitive tariffs against products of those nations deemed to limiting their marketplace to U.S. products. That day, President Clinton signed an executive order revising the provisions of Super 301, which allowed the United States to impose punitive tariffs on the products of countries deemed to be practicing unfair trade policies. close
