The U.S. House of Representatives resumed debate on crime legislation. The bill dealt with violent criminals and prisons. It would increase grants to states for prison construction and expansion. To receive grants states would have to strengthen sentencing guidelines. This bill is also designed to limit lawsuits by prisoners and keep prisoners form activities that might make the physically stronger and improve their fight ability. this house has passed several crime bills which would modify the one passed during the last congress. close
