Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Ms. Mason talked about current stories in Roll Call, including Senator Packwood’s resignation and congressional pay freezes. In the next segment, Ms. Glasser and Mr. Winneker talked about how Roll Call covers Congress and current news topics. In a telephone interview, Mr. Barnes talked about his new magazine, The Weekly Standard. In the next segment, Mr. Yudain talked why he founded Roll Call and how it has changed since 1955. In the next segment, editors and reporters participated in an editorial board meeting. They talked about follow up stories to current ones, including the Packwood hearings. In the final segment, Mr. Kondracke talked about more stories that Roll Call is currently covering. close
