Senator Robert Dole(R-KS) REPUBLICAN LEADER announced that the Republicans formed a Balanced Budget Steering Committee.

The bicameral budget steering group would meet daily to expedite passage of the Republican balanced budget proposal.

He and Representative Newt Gingrich(R-GA), SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE emphasized that they are prepared to balance the budget immediately.
