In his first speech since returning from Asia, Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, R-Georgia, talked about his trip and about the Republican congressional agenda. He said the biggest impact of his trip was the evidence that the information age world market system is in full swing and his realization that the U.S. must learn how to be the most competitive in that market. He then summarized the Republican goals of smaller government, lower taxes and less regulation. After his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
