The House approved the debate rule for three bills, after failing to pass the measure earlier in the week. Thereafter, the House debated and approved two bills. One would block waivers on most of the "buy America" requirements on electric car chargers. The other would bar the federal government from entering into or enforcing settlement agreements that include payments to third-party groups. Members later observed a moment of silence for and gave tribute speeches to the late former Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), who died at the end of December 2023.
