Independent and undeclared presidential candidate Ross Perot spoke to approximately 6,000 supporters in front of the California state capitol. The occasion marked the submittance of voter signatures to the California state capitol in excess of the number of signatures needed to place Ross Perot’s name on the California ballot for the presidential race. Following a number of introductory speeches before a vocally supportive crowd, Ross Perot praised the accomplishment of his supporters in getting 135,000 signatures, and noted the use of television talk shows and town hall meetings, both techniques used by Ross Perot, by the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates. Following his speech, Mr. Perot introduced Gen. Stockdale, “a hero’s hero,” and lauded veterans and the family of veterans for their sacrifices. close
