Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell (D-Maine) and House Speaker Thomas Foley (D-Washington) expressed their opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey handed down earlier in the day. Sen. Mitchell criticized the decision on the grounds that it upheld restrictions on abortion that constitute interference in the basic constitutional rights of a woman. close
