Former Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, campaigned in Des Moines for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the weekend before the Iowa caucuses. They spoke to volunteers about the presidential candidate’s record to prevent gun violence. The couple became gun control advocates after Ms. Giffords was critically injured during a 2011 gun shooting at a politcial event in her district near Tuscon, Arizona. close
