Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry held a state luncheon for Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the State Department. During opening remarks, the vice president noted the prime minister’s strong arguments for the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact earlier in the day and joked that the administration needed the prime minister to lobby Congress on their behalf. Vice President Biden also spoke about the positive impact that the prime minister’s father, Lee Kuan Yew, who was Singapore’s first prime minister, had on U.S.-Singapore relations. close
