President Biden delivered remarks to the staff at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He provided an update on his administration's coronavirus response efforts. The president announced the purchase of 200 million more vaccine doses from Moderna and Pfizer. In addition, he said they are on track to surpass the goal of administering 100 million shots in the first 100 days of his administration. A House Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing to examine consumer and employment arbitration agreements. Among the witnesses were labor relations attorney Roger King and former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson, who shared her experience with forced arbitration. At the start of the hearing, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) outlined his proposed legislation, titled the Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act or FAIR Act. Rep. Johnson said if Congress passes the bill it would ban the enforcement of forced arbitration clauses in employment, consumer, antitrust or civil rights disputes.
