Federal Bureau of Prisons Dir. Testifies on Federal Prison Deaths

They also addressed the need for more funding and resources to address the prison system's aging infrastructure and the challenges related to the recruitment and retention of prison staff.

Justices Hear Case on NRA's Speech Lawsuit Against Fmr. NY Regulator

Vullo, a case on whether a former New York regulator violated the NRA's free speech rights by threatening companies that do business with them. In 2017, Maria Vullo, the then superintendent of the Department of Financial Services investigated the NRA-endorsed Carry Guard affinity insurance program. This program, underwritten and administered by third parties, covered members' financial losses and if needed, criminal defense costs from use of a licensed firearm. The investigation concluded it violated state law. In February 2018 following a deadly Florida school shooting, Ms. Vullo met with companies urging them to end or rethink their ties with the gun group. AIG and other companies, including the ones associated with the Carry Guard program severed or reduced ties with the NRA.
