Education Secretary Richard Riley and Associate Attorney General Raymond Fisher issued the first Annual Report on School Safety. The report noted that while school crime had decreased, the number of gangs and gang-related activity had risen. Secretary Riley also commented on President Clinton’s plan to reduce class size by hiring more teachers. After their remarks they answered questions from the media. close
