Felicity Allen talked about her biography, Jefferson Davis: Unconquerable Heart, published by the University of Missouri Press. This book presents the president of the Confederacy from a Southern point of view. Mark Winchell talked about his biography, Where No Flag Flies: Donald Davidson and the Southern Resistance, published by the University of Missouri Press. Davidson was a poet, teacher, literary critic and social and political activist. This book attempts to look beyond his racial views and resistance to the civil rights movement to the importance of his insights. After their remarks the panelists answered questions from the audience. close
