Brigadier General Daniel Gazeau briefed reporters on events in the Persian Gulf war relating to the French military forces. The number of French personnel in the Persian Gulf area is approximately 14,000, and Gen. Gazeau said that U.S. and French forces are working together in coalition against Iraq. He stated that the French population is behind the French troops in Saudi Arabia. Gen. Solanet said the French air campaign is going well, with approximately 850 combat missions completed.
