President Bush spoke to the nation from the Indian Treaty Room about the military strikes that the U.S. military was now carrying out against military targets in Afghanistan. The military attacks were in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the U.S. World Trade Center and the Pentagon. He referred to the effort as Operation Enduring Force.
