French President Jacques Chirac and British Prime Minister Tony Blair met at London’s Lancaster House and took questions from reporters on their differences over Iraq at a news conference in London. President Chirac was in the U.K. for a state visit, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale, a series of agreements between the U.K. and France signed in 1904 to facilitate empire-building and divide North African and Persian spheres of influence. close
