Government officials and leaders participated in a ceremony to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the late Jackie Robinson in the Capitol Rotunda. Mr. Robinson broke baseball’s color-barrier in 1947. Speakers included Jackie Robinson’s widow, Rachel Robinson, President Bush, Senator John Kerry, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and members of the House and Senate leadership.
