John Seigenthaler, anchor of the NBC Nightly News weekend edition, interviewed his father, an author and founder of the First Amendment Center. The elder Seigenthaler related his experiences during the civil rights movement and working for Attorney General Robert Kennedy. As a government negotiator he was beaten by a mob in Alabama. He hosted his own television book show for 34 years on the Nashville public television station, and has written books of his own. He responded to questions from high school audience members about the First Amendment and other topics.
