NASA administrators spoke to reporters about the pre-launch status of the space shuttle Discovery after the first failed attempt to launch a few weeks before. Using charts, Ms. Winters discussed weather forecasts, including concerns of cross winds and developing rain showers. She said at the various sites there was between a 30-40 percent chance of weather prohibiting launch. Following their remarks, the officials responded to questions and comments from reporters. Mr. Diller moderated the event. close
