Senator Hatch spoke to students and faculty about his experiences on the Senate Judiciary Committee, the confirmation process for U.S. Supreme Court nominees, and recent hearings on several presidential nominees including the confirmation of Chief Justice John G. Roberts. He also talked about the role of an individual’s judicial philosophy, appropriate areas for questioning by senators, and judicial activism.
