Connie Schultz talked about her memoir ...and His Lovely Wife: A Memoir from the Woman Beside the Man, published by Random House. In her book Connie Schultz, syndicated columnist with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, talked about life on the campaign trail with her husband, Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH). She described how she and Senator Brown became acquainted in 2002, their first date in 2003, and their marriage in 2004. She also spoke about the difficult decision to give up her column during Sherrod Brown’s senatorial campaign, commented on starting a marriage in middle-age very much in the public eye, and recounts the unexpected challenges and rewards of campaigning on behalf of her new husband.
