The guests talked about the controversy over U.S News and World Report's annual college ranking issue. Concerns include whether the rankings consist of biased material, the relevance of the criteria, or how the rankings are used. Kenneth Terrell, editor for the U.S. News annual report, explained how their rankings are obtained. John Zmirak is the editor in chief of Choosing the Right College and other materials published by International Studies Institute. Mr. Zmirak argued that although the rankings contain accurate measures they are not used well and proposed other measures for evaluating colleges. They responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
