Najmaldin Karim talked about Turkey’s military role in stopping the Kurdistan’s Peoples Party (PKK), who have been fighting for self-rule in southeastern Turkey since 1984 and about activity along the Turkey-Kurdish Iraq border. Dr. Karim says that the United States must continue to push Turkey to stop a military action so that the situation with the Iraqi Kurdistan government can be resolved peacefully. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.
