Kenneth Green moderated a panel discussion titled “Energy, Biofuels, and Climate Change.” Nicholas Eberstadt presented an historical perspective on the current crisis. Robert Paarlberg asserted that the crisis is caused by lagging farm production in Africa rather than high food prices. Suzanne Hunt talked about the relationship between energy prices, climate change, and food prices.

Following their presentations, panel members answered audience members' questions.

The panel “Energy, Biofuels, and Climate Change” was part of a forum titled “Was Malthus Right? Was Today’s Global Food Crisis Inevitable?” close
