Loree Sutton talked about the increasing number of brain injuries U.S. troops suffer from, and new protocols to deal with brain injuries and psychological stress. She focused on the many soldiers who were deployed when they were 18 years old and had deployed for numerous tours. She noted that the brain is not fully developed at 18 years old and that subsequent development had a profound effect on ways in which soldiers handle post-traumatic stress. After taking questions from the audience, she recited a poem. close
