Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) spoke on the Senate floor about his amendment, adopted earlier in the day by voice vote, that would exempt religious organizations from the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and protect them from repercussions if following their principles caused them to discriminate against gay employees.
