C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Mobile, Alabama, from April 19-23 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. Winston Groom talked about his life and career. Mr. Groom is an American novelist and non-fiction writer, best known for his book Forrest Gump, which was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film of the same name in 1994. Mr. Groom has written a number of novels that draw on his experiences in Vietnam.
