Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) talked about delays in health care for veterans at VA hospitals and allegations that some VA hospitals kept secret, separate sets of books to cover up wait times. Senator Sanders held hearing on the matter the previous week at which Secretary Shinseki testified. Senator Sanders said that Secretary Shinseki should not resign or be fired over these allegations. He noted that there had been improvements in the system, but backlogs remained and needed to be addressed. After the interview the reporters discussed his responses with the host. close
